WHAT ARE WE DOING?
The Southern NRM Strategy will provide the basis for rolling three year Regional Investment Proposals, to be prepared by NRM South for both the Southern region and, in collaboration with NRM North, the Tasmanian National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP) region. These proposals will guide investment and partnerships to focus on priority issues and actions needed to improve our natural resource base. In addition NRM South is keen to attract investment from other partners including local government, industry, research institutions and the community. Regional Investment Proposals will:
- Be developed through consultation with stakeholders
and potential investors
- Identify costs, benefits, and responsibilities for implementation
|
- Guide Australian Government investment in regional NRM through such programs as the Natural Heritage Trust and the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality
- Form the basis for investment partnerships in Southern NRM
- Guide government, industry, philanthropic and community investment
in regional NRM
