NAP in Tas
Tasmania is in a good position to manage and repair our dryland salinity and water quality issues so we do not experience what is occurring on the mainland, but something must be done now as the Tasmanian NAP region is already affected by salinity and poor water quality.
Where is the NAP Region in Tasmania?
The NAP region in Tasmania overlaps the northern and southern natural resource management regions. It stretches from Brighton in the south to Flinders Island in the North.
Why Was this Area Selected?
To be included within the Tasmanian NAP regional boundaries there had to be both significant water quality and dryland salinity issues and problems. Other areas within the State not included within the NAP region may have either water quality or salinity problems but not a combination of both as significant concerns and these will be addressed through the regional NRM strategies.

So Will Only Those Living in this Area Benefit from NAP?
Funding for natural resource management activities will be allocated according to NAP and regional strategies and priorities. You need to be involved in the process of setting priorities, targets and strategies for regional NRM.
All regions of Tasmania will benefit from the flow-on effects of NAP.
